How to get music from an iPod to your PC

Steps:

1. Open "My Computer"

2. If you don't see the folders tree on the left, press the "Folders" button on the Toolbar

3. Connect your iPod to your PC. On My Computer you will see the iPod logo.

4. Depending on your settings, iTunes will probably open. Don't close it, just ignore it. Closing it will cut the connection between the PC and the iPod.

5. (back to My Computer) Click on the iPod logo.

You will see the folders inside the iPod. The part we need is hidden. To see it:

6. Go to Tools > Folder Options > View > Advanced settings

7. Select "Show hidden files and folders" and press the button "OK"

Now you can have access to the folder F:\iPod_Control, where all your music is stored. Go to iPod_Control > Music. Your songs are distributed in folders identified by the letter F followed by a number. Example: iPod_Control\Music\F1.

All these folders are hidden. To have access to them you might need to follow steps 6 and 7 again (for each folder).

8. Copy the whole folder iPod_Control\Music to your computer

9. You can now eject / safelly remove the iPod
